Glue Fun

So we LOVE glue at my house.  I can remember gluing my hands when I was a kid just so I could peel it off..aww fun times those were.  My kiddos love the gooey stuff too.  I'm focusing all my attention on my 4 year old trying to get her ready for kindergarten next year, so since we are working on letters I made letter glue worksheets.

Pretty simple but loads of gluey Fun!

I was all out of the fun glitter glues, but I had some glue and glitter laying around so I mixed it all up and "POOF" We have glitter glue!

We also practiced our letters by tracing.

FREEBIE ALERT

We decided not to stop the glue fun there!  This one is my favorite.  It does take a long time to dry but so fun!  Simply print on fun colored paper..laminate..now the fun part trace the letters with your glue.

Now let dry.

Look at those fun glittery letters!  Now your little one can build words, spell their name or just find and match back to the laminated card!  My kiddos love these!  Go print the preview to this product at my tpt store!  Check it out!

That's it for today!  Enjoy!

20 Small Group Center Ideas

SMALL GROUP...  My two most hated words my first 3 years of teaching... the sound of these words together made my stomach turn!  Everyone from coworkers to specialists had the ideas, but the countless hours I spent trying to make these "ideas" and this time engaging for the ENTIRE class was disgusting. I gave up many nights and weekends trying to find something that worked and kept the littles attention for longer than 2 minutes! I spent hours laminating and cutting - trying to make hands on activities that not only kept them engaged but was also growing those little brains!  Everything I tried just didn't seem to keep them at their desks working independently , so I could work with the kiddos at my small group table.  I was defeated. I felt like I was failing my students. I knew my low babies needed this time more than any part of the day, but I just couldn't find a way to make it successful. Fast forward out of my self pity to a Christmas craft fair in my hometown...

Apple Graphing with First Grade

So this week I am working on graphing!  You can do so much with graphing!  My first thought was a tasting party!  You can make this a quick unit or even use all week!  I had to include a cute writing activity to hang on a bulletin board or impress your colleagues and put these little cuties in the hallways! I will use these cuties at the end of our unit.  There are four friends to choose from.  The students will complete the graphing booklet, which will tell them which "writing buddy" they will hang in the hall.  I'll explain more below.  So the apple graphing booklet will take some prep work on your end ( or some helpful parents ).  I have included a letter to send home for parent involvement and apple donations:)  Day 1 we will talk about graphing and complete the first worksheet.   You will have students taste apple slices.  They will then complete the "My Vote" section on the worksheet.  Studen...
